New Delhi. South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has started a plan to install 20 WiFi hotspots in each ward. These wifi hotspots to be installed under PM Wani scheme will be installed in every ward. In particular, 20 small shops in JJ Colony will be converted into PDO i.e. Public Data Office. On their PDO, citizens will get one hour free high speed internet every day.
Shopkeepers will get 50 percent of the profits
At the same time, after this MCD will charge ₹ 5 every day for 1 hour. At the same time, will charge ₹ 10 per week. If someone wants to take unlimited WiFi service, then he can buy this service by paying ₹ 50 every month. South MCD will give 50 percent of this internet sales amount to the shopkeepers in return as profit.
South Delhi Mayor Anamika and Deputy Mayor Subhash Bhadana inaugurated the PM Vani Yojana. The scheme of providing 15 civil services through the Government of India Citizen Service Center (CMC) was also initiated by the Southern Corporation.
Explaining in detail about the initiative of the WiFi scheme launched by the corporation, the Mayor said that this initiative will create new employment opportunities. Also, the Southern Corporation will bear the cost of free router and other devices for the shopkeepers. There will be zero cost to the shopkeepers in the first 3 months. He said that the local corporation councilors will identify those areas of their wards which will benefit the most from this PM-Vani scheme. Apart from this, the councilors will try to make people more and more aware about this scheme.
15 citizen services will be available online through CSC
Describing the second plan, Deputy Mayor Subhash Bhadana said that the Southern Corporation is going to provide 15 civic services through the CSC (Citizen Service Center) of the Government of India. The corporation has started the service of registration of birth and death certificate through CSC.
Apart from this, other facilities of the corporation such as depositing property tax, trade license, factory license, Veterinary license, Tehbajari license, community building and park booking, convection and parking charge, e-mutation etc. will also soon be available in these CS’s.
