Fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi’s wife Preeti Choksi has alleged that her husband is being harassed. Not only this, he has also said that he has faith in Antigua’s law. Preeti Choksi while talking to news agency ANI said, “My husband has many health problems. He is a citizen of Antigua. The Antigua and Barbuda Constitution gives them all rights and protections. I have full faith in the rule of law of Caribbean countries. We look forward to his safe and correct return to Antigua at the earliest.”
“What has hurt the family is the physical abuse and complete disregard for my husband’s human rights,” she said. If someone really wanted to bring him back to life, why did they need to physically and mentally torture him?”

Indian team in Dominica to bring back Choksi
A team of officials from various agencies, led by a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the CBI, has gone to Dominica and if the courts of this Caribbean island country can deport absconding diamond merchant Mehul Choksi to India. If allowed, it can be brought back. Officials gave this information on Tuesday. There are two CBI members in this team. The team of officials has reached Dominica where Choksi’s case will be brought up for hearing before the High Court of Dominica tomorrow (local time).
Choksi went missing on May 23 mysteriously from Antigua where he has been living as a civilian since 2018. He was detained for illegally entering neighboring Dominica. A team of officials has reached Dominica to bring back Choksi and coordinate with local prosecutors. The team is coordinating with the local prosecutors to better present their case before the High Court. The team also argues that Choksi is still an Indian citizen and an Interpol Red Notice is issued against him.
