With this facility, railway passengers can avoid standing in long queues to get unreserved tickets and they can easily book unreserved tickets from their mobile.
Railway General And Platform Ticket Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, the restriction of outer limit geo-fencing distance for both journey ticket and platform ticket in ‘UTS On Mobile’ app has been abolished with immediate effect. . With this, rail users can now book their unreserved tickets and platform tickets for any station of Indian Railways right from the comfort of their homes.
Whereas the internal limit of geo fencing will remain unchanged i.e. ticket booking will be allowed only from outside the station premises.
Ban lifted
It may be noted that currently the restriction of this outer border geo-fencing distance was 20 km. That is, at present any passenger could book an unreserved ticket or platform ticket to travel from that station only up to a maximum distance of 20 km from that station. Now this restriction has been removed.
