Gold Limit at Home: How much gold can a married and unmarried woman keep at home? know what are the rules

Gold Limit at Home: In India, gold is ahead not only as a jewelery but also in terms of investment.

Along with this, the consumption of gold in the country is also more than other countries, wedding ceremonies or festivals are full of jewelery showrooms.

Amidst all this, do you know how much gold a married woman can keep with her in India.

Let us tell you that the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has set some rules regarding this, due to which tax is levied on keeping more gold.

According to the rules, a married woman in the country can keep up to 500 grams of gold jewelery with her.

On the other hand, if we talk about unmarried girls, then girls who are not married can keep up to 250 grams of gold or gold jewelry with them.

Under the rules of income tax, a man can keep up to 100 grams of gold with him. Whether he is married or unmarried.

If you are found to have more gold than this, then tax will be applicable on the additional gold.

Here, keep in mind that if you have inherited gold, then it is tax free, but if you sell it, then tax is applicable.

However, for this you will have to provide a legal will or other proof, otherwise it will come under the category of penalty.
