14 coaches of Chandigarh Express derailed between Gonda- Mankapur railway section of Gonda district. Three people are reported dead in the accident while 14 people have been injured.
15904 – Chandigarh Express was going from Chandigarh to Gorakhpur. The accident happened near Pikaura village of Motiganj police station area. At quarter to two, two coaches derailed, after which 12 more coaches overturned.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the incident. He has instructed the officials to immediately reach the spot and expedite the relief work and provide proper treatment to the injured.
CM Yogi has instructed the district administration officials to provide all possible assistance. On the instructions of the CM, all the hospitals, CHCs and PHCs of the surrounding districts have been put on alert mode. The SDRF team has also been instructed to reach the spot and expedite the relief work.

Due to the accident, the routes of these trains have been changed
– 15707 Katihar-Amritsar Express has been changed and is running via Mankapur-Ayodhya-Barabanki.
– 15653 Guwahati-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express has been changed and is running via Mankapur-Ayodhya-Barabanki.
