Akasa Air International Flights: Low-cost airline company Akasa Air has received permission from regulator DGCA for international flights. According to sources, the airline is ready to start flights on international routes in December. Its initial destinations will be the Gulf countries. However, the airline is awaiting allocation of traffic rights by the government and subsequent approval from the respective countries. These traffic rights are usually granted reciprocally by governments to airlines of their respective countries on a bilateral basis. It is noteworthy that the existing traffic rights for major destinations like Dubai and Doha are already being fully utilized.
Under Secretary, Civil Aviation Ministry, S.P.R. The letter issued by Tripathi said, “Akasa Air had sought approval as a scheduled international carrier and subsequently requested for allocation of traffic rights. The proposal was examined in consultation with DGCA and This decision has been taken with the approval of Saksham.”
Akasa Air is eligible for international flights
He said that apart from this, as per DGCA, Akasa Air is eligible to apply for international scheduled air transport services. However, it is also informed that traffic rights will be allotted to Akasa Air (M/s SNV Aviation Pvt. Ltd.) by this Ministry. Country specific preparedness as per CAR Section-3, Part-II will be examined by the DGCA before granting permission to Akasa Air (M/s SNV Aviation Pvt. Ltd.) to operate scheduled international operations, the letter said.
Service will start by the end of the year
An airline spokesperson said, “The Civil Aviation Ministry has recognized the operational strength of Akasa Air and we have been designated as an international scheduled operator.
