The Haryana government has decided to provide protection to the farmers growing horticulture crops under the ‘Mukhyamantri Horticulture Bima Yojana’. The decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of the Haryana Cabinet chaired by the state Chief Minister ML Khattar on Wednesday. An official statement said that the cabinet has approved the implementation of Mukhyamantri Horticulture Insurance Scheme (MBBY).
Financial assistance on crop loss The
scheme is based on the assurance of compensation to the farmers growing horticulture crops for crop loss due to adverse weather and natural calamity. Horticulture farmers have to bear huge financial losses due to various reasons. They have to suffer due to calamities like disease in crops, untimely rains, storms, drought and increase in temperature.

According to the statement included in the scheme, a total of 21 vegetable, fruit and spice crops will be covered under this scheme.
Will cover 40,000
under the insurance scheme, farmers will have to modest pay Rs 1,000 for vegetables and spices crop of 750 bucks and fruit harvest in return they will be given assurance of Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively.
In this way the insurance claim will be settled
Under the scheme, a survey will be conducted to settle the insurance claim, under which the crop loss will be assessed in four categories 25 percent, 50 percent, 75 and 100 percent. The scheme will be optional and will be applicable throughout the state.
To adopt the scheme, farmers will have to register in Meri Fasal Mera Byora Portal giving details of their crop and area. Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, seed capital of Rs 10 crore will be kept by the state government, state and district level committees for the scheme.
