While giving relief in the midst of the Corona crisis, the Central Government has increased the variable dearness allowance of government employees to double Variable DA. This will also increase the Provident Fund (PF) and Gratuity of Government employees.
New Delhi. The central government has given a big relief to government employees in the midst of Corona crisis. Actually, the central government has doubled the Variable Dearness Allowance. Now it has been increased from Rs 105 to Rs 210 per month. The move by the Ministry of Labor and Employment will now increase the Provident Fund (PF) and Gratuity of more than 1.5 crore central employees. Not only this, there will be an increase in the minimum wages of central employees and workers.
All these employees will get the benefit of increasing variable DA
This variable DA, extended by the central government, will be given to the 1.5 crore people who work under the central government or under the Scheduled Employment in the Central Sphere. This decision of the Ministry of Labor will benefit Union employees, railway employees, mining, oil fields, port employees. Seven will benefit both the contract and casual workers. This variable DA revision has been decided by the Ministry of Labor on the basis of the average consumer price index (CPI) of industrial workers between July and December 2020.
Are changed in variable DA within every 6 months
Dearness allowance is ‘Industrial Dearness Allowance’ and ‘Variable Dearness Allowance’ in two ways. The variable dearness allowance is changed every 6 months. On the basis of retail inflation, the central government changes it for its employees and workers. The variable DA is calculated based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Labor Minister Santosh Gangwar said that by increasing the VDA by Rs 105 every month, central employees will get some relief in the midst of the Kovid crisis. The Ministry of Labor has said that it will be a relief for various categories of employees.
