New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Saturday announced a Rs 1,000-crore ‘Startup India Seed Fund’ to encourage startups. He said that this will boost employment opportunities. With this, the lives of people will also improve. Startups working across the country are working in the country today, from e-toilet to PPE kits and services for the differently-abled.

Addressed through press conferencing

Addressing the ‘Start: Start-up India International Conference’ through video conferencing, Modi said that several steps are being taken to ensure that there is no shortage of capital for startups in the country. This will help to start new startups and promote their growth. On the occasion, he also inaugurated a television show Start-up Champions program, which will be broadcast on Doordarshan (DD).

He also said that the government has already implemented the scheme of funds to help raise equity capital for start-ups. I have brought Along with this, the government is also going to help start-ups in raising funds through guarantees in the coming days.

Inauguration of television show On the occasion, he also inaugurated a television show Start-up Champions program, which will be broadcast on Doordarshan (DD). During the program, the Prime Minister heard about the work of start-ups in several places in India along with Chennai, Bhopal, Ghaziabad, Sonipat. During this, he also heard the achievements of start-ups of BIMSTEC countries including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal.



41 thousand startups engaged under the campaign

Modi said that today more than 41,000 startups in the country are engaged in campaigns, in which more than 5,700 are in IT sector. More than 1,700 are working in the agricultural sector. This situation has been created in the last five years. Before 2014, only four startups in the country were in the Unicorn Club, whereas today more than 30 startups are in this club.
