Education Minister Ratan Lal said that under the Chief Minister Yuva Yogajug Yojana, more than 15,000 final year students from 40 educational institutions including 22 government degree colleges and two universities will be selected, who will be given five-five thousand rupees for purchasing smart phones. Ratan Lal Nath said that the scheme was started last year. So far, funds have been given to 7274 students to purchase smartphones.
So far, Rs 3.67 crore has been disbursed. This year its budget has been increased to Rs 7.50 crore.
