In the budget, the Finance Minister has also proposed the formation of a resolution committee to protect small taxpayers from getting involved in litigation. People with taxable income of up to 50 lakhs can appear before this committee. Apart from this, the period of tax assessment has also been reduced from 6 months to 3 months. The Finance Minister also exempted NRI people from double tax.
The government announced an amendment to the Insurance Act 1938. It has been said that the limit for FDI will be increased from 49 per cent to 74 per cent. The opposition is questioning the budget.
