LPG Connection: In the budget presented on February 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced to give 1 crore more gas connections under Ujjwala Yojana. The Finance Minister has said that the Free LPG LPG Scheme (Ujjwala) will be expanded and one crore more beneficiaries will be brought under its purview. According to the 2011 census in Ujjwala scheme, families who fall in the BPL category can avail the benefit of this scheme.
1 crore people to be added to Ujjwala scheme
Soon one crore women can take advantage of the Ujjwala scheme. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala scheme, the government provides domestic LPG (LPG) connections to the families living below the poverty line. Under this Ujjwala scheme, there is a target of providing free LPG connections to a total of 8 crore BPL families.
What is Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme
Under the Ujjwala Yojana, the Government of India will provide financial assistance of Rs 1600 under the Ujjwala scheme to every family living below the poverty line. This amount will be for purchasing LPG gas connection. Along with this, installment (EMI) can also be provided to cover the expenses incurred in buying the stove and filling LPG cylinders for the first time.
How to apply
Even today, millions of women in villages cook food on wood and cow dung, due to which health is affected. Only a woman of BPL family can apply to get gas connection under Ujjwala scheme. For this, filling the KYC form and giving it to the nearby LPG center. While applying, you also have to tell whether you want to take 14.2 kg cylinder or 5 kg.
