New Delhi Passport Seva Programme. The Ministry of External Affairs has started the Digi Locker platform for Passport Seva Program. Since then, no original documents will be required while applying for Passport. With the help of Digi Locker program, the process of making passports has become much easier.
According to Minister of State for External Affairs V Muralitharan, there has been a big change from the Passport Seva Program. This will make it easier for the public to get passports. He said, the number of passport makers has increased in the last six years. The number of people applying for passports is continuously increasing every month. Muralidhan further revealed that in the year 2017, more than 10 lakh people applied for passports in a month.

At the same time, a system has been started to build near the house. Passport Seva Kendra has been started in Head Post Office. Wherever citizens can get passports made. This facility has been operationalized in 426 post offices across the country. Currently, passports are made at 36 Passport Offices, 93 Passport Seva Kendras and 426 Post Offices Passport Seva Kendras.
Apply for passport at home
1. First go to the website https://www.passportindia.gov.in/. Click on new user registration here. Where to register yourself After this you will get the login ID – password.
2. Click on the link on your e-mess. Submit User ID and Password. Then go to the Apply for Fresh Passport link.
3. A new form will open. Fill the information sought in it carefully. A mistake may require reapplying for a passport.
4. After filling the form, click on the link for payment and appointment. Where to book your time. Pay the fee after submitting the form.
5. After the payment, please take a print out of the form. It contains reference number and appointment number. Go to the Passport Seva Kendra with your original documents on the selected date. Your passport will come home in a week after being processed at the center.
