Government Telecommunication Provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will now provide its service in flight and maritime also. For this, the Department of Telecommunication has given license to BSNL. This means that Indian Airlines can provide BSNL connectivity in India as well as globally in flight.

BSNL’s strategic partner and global mobile satellite communication player Inmarsat has confirmed that the telecom company has got the necessary license to offer Inmarsat’s Global Xpress (GX) mobile broadband service in India.

Under Maritime and In-flight Connectivity (IFMC) licence, the GX will be available to Indian customers in the aviation and maritime sectors. Apart from connectivity in flight, its service will also be available for Indian commercial maritime companies.

This will help a lot for ship operation and crew welfare service. The license of BSNL will also ensure that the GX service is available to the government as well as other users. For this work will be done in Phase Manor.

Regarding this, BSNL Chairman and Managing Director PK Purwar said that Global Express (GX) has been recognized as the world’s best high-speed satellite communication service for government and mobility customers. They are very happy to make this capability available to Indian users.

It is located in Ghaziabad, UP. GX operates on Ka-band. This is a high-speed broadband network. It has been designed for mobility and government customers.
