SpiceJet will connect Bagdogra with Ahmedabad and Kolkata with Srinagar
Budget carrier SpiceJet is going to launch 28 new flights on its domestic network across the country from 31 October 2021. SpiceJet said in a statement that it will introduce several new non-stop flights connecting the tourist destinations of Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur in Rajasthan with major metros and cities as part of its new winter programme.
SpiceJet will connect Bagdogra with Ahmedabad and Kolkata with Srinagar. Apart from this, two new flights will be added in the Bangalore-Pune sector. At the same time, SpiceJet will shift part of its domestic operations to Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport Terminal 1 (T1) from October 31.
Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Commercial Officer, SpiceJet said, “With the onset of the festive season and a significant increase in the demand for leisure travel, we have ensured seamless connectivity to Rajasthan from across the country for our passengers.
He said that Rajasthan is one of the most preferred tourist destinations in the country during winters. With the improvement in demand, SpiceJet is committed to launch more new flights, which will help revive travel and tourism.
According to a Hindustan Times report, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) will resume operations from October 31, almost 19 months after the terminal 1 (T1) of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) ceased operations.
SpiceJet has recently announced to add Kushinagar of UP to its domestic network from 26 November 2021. There the first flight will be between Kushinagar and Delhi, which will start on November 26. The government had on October 12 allowed airlines to operate domestic flights from October 18 without any capacity restrictions.
