Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar presented a budget of 1.55 lakh crore for Haryana. Elderly pension has been increased to Rs 2500 per month.
The Manohar Lal Khattar government of Haryana presented a budget of Rs 1.55 lakh crore for the next financial year (2021-22) in which health, agriculture and infrastructure sectors have been given priority. No new tax has been announced in the budget. CM Khattar has increased the old age pension from 2250 to 2500 rupees from April 1. In this way, they will get 30000 rupees in a year.
Apart from this, Khattar has announced a new scheme named Mukhyamantri Antyodya Parivar Utthan Abhiyan in this budget. This scheme has been started to help poor families. Under this scheme, the poorest 1 lakh families of the state will be identified. After identification, the government will work for their economic upliftment. Under this, a package of measures for their education, skill development, salary employment, self-employment and employment generation will be adopted. With the help of these measures, it will be ensured that every family gets financial assistance of at least 1.80 lakh rupees every year.
Free education till class 9-12
The budget proposes to set up a Special Education Zone (SEZ) for all categories of students from 9th to 12th, from free education to the promotion of technology-based education in government schools. Khattar said in the budget, ‘In the budget It is important that priority should be set for specific areas of upliftment in the economy. Especially in this time of crisis it is necessary. We have identified the Health, Agriculture and Infrastructure sector for the improvement and acceleration in the economic sector.
Budget of 1.55 lakh crores was presented
Khattar has increased the budget for the financial year 2021-22 to Rs 1,55,645 crore without proposing any new tax. This is 13 percent more than the budget of Rs 1,37,738 crore in the previous financial year ie 2020-21. The budget expenditure is 25 percent or Rs 38,718 crore capital expenditure and 75 percent or Rs 1,16,927 crore revenue expenditure. According to budget estimates, the revenue deficit is estimated to be Rs 29,193 crore (3.29 percent of state GDP). It is estimated to be Rs 20,856 crore in the current financial year.
Debt liability increased to 2.30 lakh crores
By March 2020, the debt liability on Haryana is expected to increase to Rs 2,29,976 crore or 25.92 percent of the state gross domestic product (GSDP). It is estimated to be Rs 1,99,823 crore by March 2021. He said, ‘It is important that in the budget, especially in the time of this crisis, priority should be given to those areas which are necessary for the revival of the economy. We have placed health, agriculture and infrastructure in priority areas. He said that his government will continue to support the farmers for the economic growth of Haryana.
6110 crores announced for agriculture
In the budget, an expenditure of Rs 6,110 crore has been proposed for the agriculture sector. This is 20.9 percent more than the expenditure of Rs 5,052 crore in 2020-21. Of this, Rs 2,998 crore has been set aside for agriculture and farmers welfare, Rs 489 crore for horticulture, Rs 1,225 crore for animal husbandry and dairy, Rs 125 crore for fisheries and Rs 1,274 crore for cooperatives. The Chief Minister said that his government is committed to doubling the income of farmers. He said, ‘We are indebted to our farmers who, with their hard work, have made Haryana the main food producing state of the country today. Agriculture is the foundation of our economy. We are committed to doubling the income of farmers. The allocation for the health sector has been increased to Rs 7,731 crore in 2021-22. This is Rs 6,433 crore in 2020-21.
700 crore allocation for digital education
Under the National Education Policy, the government plans to update the structure of classrooms. An allocation of Rs 700 crore has been made for technology-based studies in all government schools. This allocation is for digital tablet, digital classroom etc. Apart from this, the Chief Minister has announced to make education free for all categories of children from ninth to 12th standard in all government schools.
