As mentioned above, the Pixel 7a is priced at Rs 43,999 in India. As part of the launch, there will be a discount offer of Rs 4,000 on the mid-range 5G phone if you have an HDFC bank card. This will effectively drop the price to Rs 39,999 on Flipkart. The mentioned price is for the 128GB storage model. As usual, Google has launched only one model of the phone. The new Pixel phone will be on sale starting May 11 via Flipkart.
Specifications, features
The newly launched Pixel 7a comes with a 6.1-inch OLED display. The panel has support for Full HD+ resolution and refreshes at 90Hz. This is an upgrade over the 60Hz seen on the Pixel 6a. On the front, there is the usual pun-hole design. There are no changes at the back of the phone. You get the same design that we saw on the Pixel 7 series and Pixel 6a smartphone. There is a horizontal camera module at the back, which includes two cameras.
The back camera setup includes a 64-megapixel main camera, which is accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. On the front, one will find a 13-megapixel camera for selfies. The Pixel 7a also comes with camera features such as Magic eraser, unblur, long exposure mode, and more.
The new Pixel 7a phone is powered by Google’s home-brewed Tensor G2 chipset, which is also powering the last year’s flagship Pixel 7 smartphone. It is backed by 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage version. It has a 4,410mAh battery under the hood, which has support for 18W fast charging tech. There is also support for wireless charging as well as stereo speakers. The Pixel 7a also has IP67 water-resistant rating.
The latest 5G phone ships with Android 13 OS out of the box. Google is promising to release 3 years of major Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates. It will be one of the first ones to receive the latest Android 14 OS, which Google is expected to release in August this year.
