Google Wallet Ban: Big News! Now Google Wallet will not work in these phones, company removed support

Google Wallet Ban: Recently Google has launched Google Wallet in India. This is a digital wallet service, where you can keep your important documents safely at one place. But hundreds of Android phone users will no longer be able to use it. We are saying this because Google is ending wallet support for older Android versions. 9to5Google has given information about this in its report. According to the report, Google has updated its support page which states that Android 9.0 or higher version will now be required to run Google Wallet. That means this app is going to stop working in hundreds of phones.

Google Wallet will not work in these Android versions

Actually, Google has stopped releasing security updates for versions older than Android 9.0. Without security updates, the risk of the smartphone being hacked increases.

“To help keep Wallet’s features more secure, we need to be able to push security updates to your device,” Google writes on its support page. But security updates are not available for Android OS versions below 9.0.

If you are also running a phone on an old Android version, then immediately update your phone’s Android version or switch to a new phone.

Google Wallet has been launched in India a few days ago

Google Wallet is a secure and private digital wallet that provides users with a single and organized space to easily access boarding passes, tickets and everyday essential documents. It first debuted in the US in 2022. After a gap of nearly two years, the app finally made its way to India last week.

However, in India, the Google Wallet app does not support payment features. According to Google, the Google Wallet app will complement the Google Pay app in India – Google’s mobile payments app to continue serving the payment needs of Indian users.

Google has partnered with 20 brands to improve the Google Wallet experience in India. These include PVR and Inox, Air India, Indigo, Flipkart, Pine Labs, Kochi Metro, Abhibus and others.

Google Wallet makes so many tasks easy

The Google Wallet app lets users in India save movie/event tickets, save and access boarding passes, redeem loyalty and gift cards, as well as digitize physical documents like luggage tags and parking receipts. Additionally, Google Wallet users in India can store and access corporate badges in the app. Additionally, confirmation mail for train and movie tickets received in the Gmail app will automatically appear in the user’s Google Wallet.
