The government has taken this decision to keep Delhi’s air clean and prevent the impact of pollution on people’s health. The level of pollution in Delhi has deteriorated significantly. According to CPCB, the average AQI of the last 24 hours increased to 392.
Due to increasing pollution in Delhi, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has implemented GRAP-3 rules in Delhi-NCR. Under this, a complete ban was imposed on all types of construction and demolition in Delhi NCR except emergency services, government construction works and construction works of strategic importance. In such a situation, if you have a BS3 or BS4 vehicle, then you have to keep this in mind.
Over age vehicles should be parked privately
Recently, Delhi High Court had issued a big order in the interest of the citizens of Delhi. The court had ordered the return of over-aged vehicles seized in the capital to their owners. These vehicle owners will also have to fulfill certain conditions. They will have to park the over-aged vehicles permanently at private places. Or they will have to promise to remove them from the city limits. Justice Prateek Jalan is hearing several petitions against the seizure of cars by authorities for violating judicial orders.
Advice not to use over age vehicle
The court had ordered a ban on the use of petrol-powered vehicles after completion of 15 years and diesel-powered vehicles after completion of 10 years. The court asked the Delhi government to formulate a policy to deal with such vehicles whose owners want to give an assurance that they will not use these vehicles here. He also directed to give proper publicity to this policy. The court said that the objective of this policy is not to confiscate cars but to ensure that the national capital is pollution free and a balance has to be maintained between the right to use one’s property and environmental interests.
