PM Vishwakarma Yojana News: The PM Vishwakarma Yojana launched by the central government to promote craftsmen and artisans like carpenters, masons and tailors has progressed rapidly. 2.58 crore applications have been submitted under the scheme.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana: Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana is a scheme run by the Central Government. Under this scheme, artisans and other craftsmen are helped to move forward by giving loans at low interest rates without any guarantee and giving them skill training. Under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, the Central Government provides loans to artisans at low interest rates without any guarantee. Apart from this, these artisans also get support in the form of toolkit incentives, marketing assistance and incentives for digital transactions.

2.58 crore applications submitted under the scheme

The PM Vishwakarma Yojana, launched by the Central Government to promote craftsmen and artisans like carpenters, masons and tailors, has progressed rapidly. 2.58 crore applications have been submitted under the scheme. According to data collected by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), out of these, 23.75 lakh applicants have been successfully registered to avail the benefits under the scheme after a three-stage verification process.

Government gives subsidy at 8 percent interest

Under the scheme, about 10 lakh people have received toolkit incentives of up to Rs 15,000 through e-vouchers to buy modern equipment for their business. Till July 29, 2024, a total loan of Rs 551.80 crore has been sanctioned to 56526 applications. The loan has a 5 percent interest rate, on which the government gives subsidy. The Government of India provides 8 percent interest subsidy, which reduces the total loan cost. The first installment of the loan can be repaid in 18 months and the second installment in 30 months. PM Vishwakarma Yojana was launched on 17 September last year.

Formal training started in the form of skill training

The aim of the scheme is to provide assistance to artisans and craftsmen of 18 trades to work with their hands and tools. Formal training in the form of basic skill training has been started in 26 states / union territories of the country under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana to upgrade and modernize the traditional skills of artisans and craftsmen. Under the scheme, PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card, skill upgradation, toolkit incentives, loan assistance, incentives for digital transactions and marketing assistance are provided.

Loan is available at 5 percent annual interest

The biggest benefit under PM Vishwakarma Yojana will be that if a skilled person wants to start his own business and is facing money problems, then he can apply for a loan under it. In this, a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh is given to the eligible applicant. In the first phase, a loan of one lakh rupees is given to start the business and after this, a loan of up to two lakh rupees can be taken in the second phase to expand it. This loan is given at an interest of just 5 percent per annum.

  • PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana will be visible on the home page.
  • Click on the Apply Online option given on it.
  • Here you have to register yourself by entering the relevant information.
  • Registration number and password will come on your mobile via SMS.
  • Now login and fill the registration form carefully.
  • Scan and upload all the documents asked along with the form.
  • Submit the completely filled form after checking it thoroughly.
