Tamil Nadu Government: Before the Pongal festival, the MK Stalin government of Tamil Nadu has taken a big decision. Tamil Nadu government has announced to give a cash gift amount of Rs 1000 to the people on the occasion of Pongal festival on 15th January. Let us tell you that the festival of Pongal will be celebrated on 15th January across the state.

An official release issued by the Tamil Nadu government said that all ration card holders, except central and state government employees, income tax payers, public sector undertakings, Chinese ration card holders and ration card holders who do not voluntarily take ration, will be required to apply for vaccination before the festival. Rs 1,000 will be distributed in cash through fair price shops. The government has already announced Pongal gift in which apart from sugarcane, one kg each of rice and sugar will be given. Free dhoti and saree will also be given along with the hamper.

Tamil Nadu government posted on social media platform X that to celebrate Tamil Thirunalam Pongal festival, Pongal gift of Rs. Honorable Chief Minister MK Stalin has announced to give Rs 1000 in cash. Apart from this, it has also been said by the government that, “Dhoti and saree will also be given free along with the gift hamper. The government said that the payment of Rs 1,000 per month given under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimaai Thittam scheme will be made on January 10, five days before the Pongal festival. This will directly benefit 1.15 crore women of the family.”
