To prevent malnourished children being born across the country, the government has started Matrutva Vandana Yojana. Under this, financial help is provided to pregnant women from the government. The government gives 6000 rupees to be used for the care of children and prevention of diseases. For this scheme, the age of pregnant women should not be less than 19 years.
The amount is received in three installments
Matritva Vandana Yojana was launched on 1 January 2017. To avail the benefits under this scheme one has to apply offline. After applying, this amount is given to pregnant women in three installments. At the same time, the government gives the last installment of Rs 1000 in the hospital at the time of the birth of the child. In the first phase of this scheme Rs 1000, in the second phase Rs 2000 and in the third phase Rs 2000 is given to pregnant women.
Money is transferred directly to the account
