Government warns Twitter – action will be taken if controversial Twitter handles are not stopped

The notice has been sent by the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India, following the move of Twitter in which Twitter blocked 250 suspected Twitter accounts on the complaint of the government, but then they were turned on.

New Delhi: The Government of India has taken a tough stance against the Twitter handle, which has been making controversial tweets in the name of the farmer movement for the last few days. Along with this, the government has also sent a notice to the Twitter company, that action should be taken against such Twitter handles soon, otherwise the government will also take strict measures against Twitter.




Ministry of Information Technology sent notice

On behalf of the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India notices Twitter ( Twitter has been sent after the move), which Twitter had blocked 250 suspected Twitter accounts on the government’s complaint, but then turned on them. The Ministry of Information Technology has used very strict language in this five-page notice. The notice stated that incorrect content with the #ModiPlanningFarmerGenocide hashtag was posted on Twitter. But now how are all such handles revived? The notice also emphasizes the Freedom of Speech and states that promoting the genocide is not a Freedom of Speech, it is a threat to law and order.

Government’s clear warning

The Government of India has clearly stated that if these handles were blocked on the instructions of the government, then how can Twitter decide by itself and start them? If Twitter does not block handles with such content, then the government can take action against Twitter.

  1. Well done, @GOI. We need strong action against organizations like Twitter that are left leaning, while claiming to only have Freedom of Speech as their core value. Also, we cannot allow people like George Soros andnhia Christian Missionary setups to topple democratically elected governments in the world. To my mind, this is criminal.
