Women between 18 years to 59 years will be eligible for this pension. This pension will be given to women under ‘Indira Gandhi Pyari Brahmin Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana’. More than 5 lakh women will benefit
Let us tell you that before the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, the ruling Congress had promised to give Rs 1,500 per month to women in the age group of 18 to 59 years. Women were waiting for this pension since the formation of the government. Recently on March 4, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had announced that the state government will give Rs 1,500 per month to women, which will benefit more than five lakh women.
These women will not get pension
A notification regarding this has been issued today on Thursday. According to the notification, this amount will be given to income tax payers, female monks living permanently in monasteries, family members of state and central government employees, pensioners of central and state governments, employees of Panchayati Raj institutions, local bodies and public sector undertakings. Will not get it. Other categories excluded from the scope of pension include contractual employees, daily wage earners, part-time employees, ex-servicemen and their wives, Anganwadi workers and helpers, Asha workers, mid-day meal workers and beneficiaries of social security pension.
Let us tell you that providing Rs 1,500 monthly to women was included in the 10 ‘guarantees’ given by the ruling Congress before the assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh. Earlier, opposition leader Jairam Thakur had accused Sukhu of misleading women over non-implementation of pension.
