It is known that e-way bill is necessary when goods worth more than Rs 50 thousand are transported from one state to another and now according to the new rules, e-way bill cannot be generated without e-challan. On the other hand, the GST department is busy completing its target of Rs 2,000 crore in about 25 days left in this financial year.

According to departmental sources, to meet this target, these days notices are being continuously issued to businessmen to deposit the outstanding tax. Raids are also being conducted. It is known that in the financial year 2023-24, Central GST has achieved the target of Rs 16,149 crore.

Investigation done in railway station

An investigation was conducted by the GST team at the railway station on Tuesday. It is being told that the boxes are being checked at the station by GST officials, however, it is not yet known what is contained in these boxes. Along with this, the goods bill is being examined.

Action taken at the locations of more than 30 businessmen in a month

According to information received from departmental sources, the department is continuously taking action against tax evaders to stop tax evasion. In a month, survey has been conducted at the locations of more than 30 businessmen of the state. Besides, continuous investigation is also being done by the Prevention Team. Central GST officials say that the department receives maximum tax during the financial year from January to March.

Average tax of Rs 1,279 crore per month

The GST department has received an average tax of Rs 1,279 crore per month in this financial year. Departmental officials say that looking at the growth coming every month, it can be said that this year the recovery will be more than the target. It is known that about 65,000 businessmen of the state are registered in Central GST.
