Hair Tips: Hair smoothing procedure

If you have thick and curly hair, then you know how hard it is to straighten and maintain it that way. After straightening, a hot dirt is produced during the sudden rainy days, and you are left with curly, thick and semi-curly hair. Learn what it will do for you to shower, dry, finish your hair, or find a professional.

Shampoo thick hair before straightening

Wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner to remove dirt

Use a gentle shampoo and conditioner as flat-ironed hair can damage your hair. Shampoo and conditioning will remove unwanted oil and product buildup from your hair.

Watch for shampoo and conditioner products that are sulfur-free and packed with glycerin. Glycerin helps reduce frizz as it enters the hair follicles, hydrating the hair from the inside out. The closer the glycerin content is to the front of the list, the higher it is.

Use a gentle shampoo and a smoothing conditioner. Straightening can be harmful to hair, even if your hair is thick and curly, so gentle products are important.

When exiting the conditioner in the shower, use a paddle brush to comb your hair. This will help in the smoothing process while in the shower.

If your hair is particularly dry then co-wash.

Co-washing simply means washing your hair with the conditioner. Hair that is thicker or curly has more dryness than the average hair. If your hair is very dry and curly, then you should try to co-wash your hair before straightening it. Having co-hair a few times a week can benefit your hair.

The shampoo can remove a lot of natural moisture from the hair. Drying of your hair can be reduced with the use of conditioner. It can be dry due to straightening your hair, co-washing can be very helpful for people with thick or curly hair.

To co-wash your hair, saturate your hair with water. Then, massage in your chosen conditioner. Give your hair three to five minutes to soak up the conditioner and then wash it off.

Gently pat your hair with towels to reduce friction.

do not rub! Wet hair is very weak and prone to damage. Slowly sunken the hair, and gently rub the ends to soak up moisture. Dry until slightly moist.

Tap the hair downwards to promote straightening. Towel drying in different directions increases curls.

Allow your hair to dry before drying it 90%. Concentrated hot air can make your hair frizzy.

Apply leave-in conditioner or hydrating formula to protect your hair from damage.

If you do not have either, use a small amount of conditioner or a lemon shaped lemon oil. These prevent your hair from producing intense heat, thereby eliminating parturition.

Do not overdo it. Too much leave-in conditioner can straighten your hair instead of straighten.

Wash your hair twice a week with conditioner only to wash it with natural hair oil.

Use argan oil for thick hair.

Straightening and Styling for Straight Hair

Use a blow dryer to completely dry your hair for straightening.

After doing this your hair will probably become very large and curly. Don’t worry – you will end it once you straighten it out.

Alternate the dryer between warm and low settings as you dry. This will help prevent your hair from drying out, making frizz and other issues.

Make sure you point the blow dryer downward from the roots as this will create an airflow that will naturally straighten your hair. Otherwise your hair will fall.

Curly or thick hair can take a very long time to dry, so be patient. You should never apply flat iron to damp hair, as it can cause damage.

Buy the right straightener for your hair type.

Ceramic plates work well for fine and thin hair, but if your hair is thick and curly then go with gold or titanium. Make sure that the flat iron you choose will work on your hair type and will not cause any unnecessary damage.

Buy a straightener that is an inch and a half or less. This shape will help you reach your roots. Larger flat irons are better for styling but are not ideal for being straight.

Make sure your flat iron can reach the right temperature for your hair. For thick or curly hair, your flat iron should reach a heat setting between 380 and 410 degrees.

Automatic shut-off features are perfect for any lifestyle.

Turn on your straightener and choose the correct heat setting.

Remember, hotter for thicker hair and cooler for thinner hair. Wait until the temperature is warm.

Do not go beyond 350 degrees. The 450-degree setting was designed for salon-professional keratin-straightening, and not for home use.

Never straighten moist or wet hair. Using hot flat iron on wet hair can cause moisture to boil, which can break your hair and literally fry it. Make sure your hair is completely dry before straightening.

Tie the top part of your hair into the bun, and straighten the bottom.

Place the section of hair in between two plates, squeeze and slide downward from the root. Once you have done this, untie the top section, and straighten it into sections. Keep doing this until all your hair is completely straight. Turn off flat iron after use.

Do not move the straightener several times on the same section. This can cause more frizz. If the straightener is not working perfectly on the first run, increase the heat to 10 to 30 degrees.

Consider straightening your hair before bed then touching it the next morning. Nighttime sleep naturally reduces frizz by first-day blow drying and heat treatment.

Finish brushing your hair and using straightening or shine serum.

Wait until your hair is cool before spraying it with a light-grip hairspray.

Make sure silicon and sulfates are also lacking in this spray or serum.

Take this serum for touch ups and flyways during rainy days.

Do not straighten your hair.

If you do not know how your hair will react, then you should not straighten your hair every day. Straightening always damages hair to an extent. After straightening your hair for the first time, wait 48 hours to straighten it again. After a week of straightening your hair every other day, assess the level of damage.

Your hair will show damage by becoming increasingly curly and losing some shine. This is a warning sign that you are overdosing straightening. However, if you do not see hair damaged, then it may be safe for you to straighten it every day.

If your hair reacts poorly to straighten every other day, then cut back to straighten your hair every 2 to 3 days.

Getting a professional keratin treatment

Do research on various salons in your area for “Brazilian Blout”.

This is an expensive way to get straight hair if you are tired of daily hair treatment. Keep in mind that some chemicals found in Brazilian blotouts have been found to be toxic. If your health is conscious, you can be. Want to avoid this treatment.

The results are generally impressive, defying the thickest and curly locks.

This will last until your chemically treated hair comes out.

Most hair types will find success with professional treatment, however, some hair or hair of African origin that is already chemically processed (with highlights or hair-dye) will leave for excessive breakage and damage.

A keratin treatment will help reduce any tightness in your hair.

Book an appointment, and schedule at least 3 hours for treatment.

The time and cost will depend on the length and thickness of your hair. It can cost an average of $ 175 to $ 350.

Be prepared not to curl your hair after treatment. Some hair will look lifeless, especially if you are used to wild curls.

The flat ironing process reaches 400 degrees Fahrenheit. This can be incredibly harmful to your hair.

After growing your roots, keep your hair straight by coming to the salon continuously.

Depending on the speed of your hair growth, you will need to visit the salon to straighten the roots again. It will usually be less time consuming and less expensive than the original treatment.

Ask your stylist when you should come for follow-up treatment. The stylist can schedule your appointment before leaving the salon.

You can do the treatment as long as you want to maintain the form of a Brazilian blowout.

Buy additional products to maintain your straight hair.

Most salons will try to sell their products to “The Brazilian Blowout” or specifically to the Keratin Straightening brands. However, you do not need expensive products to maintain straight hair. You can stop by a local drug store or supermarket and buy store brand products for a cheaper price than the products you can buy in a salon.

Buy drug store brands that are silicone-based so as to reduce frizz. They function like expensive salon products.

Look for products that are gentle on your hair but less expensive than the salon brand.
