Sirsaganj MLA Hariom Singh Yadav, a relative of Mulayam Singh Yadav, who once raised the Samajwadi Party flag, was facing allegations of anti-party activities for a long time. The SP leaders of Firozabad district united against him and demanded the High Command to be expelled from the party. Samajwadi Party state president Naresh Uttam had already thrown out MLA’s son Vijay Pratap, accusing him of indulging in anti-party activities. At present Hariom Singh Yadav is considered to be Shivpal Singh Yadav’s camp.

Last month, Progressive Samajwadi Party (Praspa) president Shivpal Singh Yadav had announced candidates for three seats in Firozabad district. He has announced SP MLA Hariom Singh Yadav from Sirsaganj as candidate from Praspa. SP MLA Hariom Yadav, who was running with Shivpal Yadav before the Lok Sabha elections, had said that he was with Shivpal Singh. On the question of quitting SP and contesting elections on SP ticket, he had said that why would I leave the party. The SP will be seen when it asks to contest elections. However, he has now been expelled from the party.

In fact, during the election for the post of District Panchayat President in Firozabad, a case was registered against Hariom Singh Yadav and his Vijay Pratap son for attempting to kill him. After the formation of BJP government in the state, a no-confidence motion came against Vijay Pratap, who became the District Panchayat President, in which the District Panchayat members submitted letters to the DM against the president. At the same time, the father and son had to go to jail. After going to jail, Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav had distanced him from the MLA, accusing him of being sold to Zilla Panchayat members. Later Prof. Ramgopal was openly opposed by his father and son.
