Heavy Rain alert: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning regarding cyclone. According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclonic circulation currently located over the central Andaman Sea may turn into cyclone Dana by October 23.
Monsoon is still raining heavily in the country as it leaves. In this sequence, today the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of very heavy rain in many states and regions.
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be very heavy rains in many states of the country. These states include Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Konkan Goa region, Marathwada region of Central Maharashtra. Apart from these states, the Meteorological Department has predicted that there may be heavy rains in Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman Nicobar today.
The Meteorological Department said that Saurashtra and Kutch have received very heavy rains during the last 24 hours today on 21.10.2024. Heavy rains may also occur in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam region.
According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area has formed over the east-central Bay of Bengal and the adjoining North Andaman Sea. Under the influence of yesterday’s upper air cyclonic circulation over the North Andaman Sea and the adjoining east-central and south-eastern Bay of Bengal, a low pressure area has formed over the east-central Bay of Bengal and the adjoining North Andaman Sea on the morning of today, 21 October 2024 (0530 hrs Indian time). Due to this, very heavy rainfall is expected in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands today.

It is expected to reach the northwest of the Bay of Bengal near the Odisha-West Bengal coasts by the morning of October 24.
The Meteorological Department has also warned that there may be heavy rains in the southern interior parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka between October 22 and October 26.
