Heavy Rain Alert: There will be torrential rains in these states, IMD has issued an alert

IMD Update: According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rains in the southern parts of the country. There is a possibility of heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, South Interior Karnataka and coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh for the next few days.

Heavy Rain Alert: The southwest monsoon has left the country. Now the northeast monsoon rains have started. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rain warning has been issued in the southern parts of India. According to the press release issued by the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, South Interior Karnataka and coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh. This rain may continue for the next two days.

According to IMD, the southwest monsoon has departed from the entire country from today, and with this the activity of the northeast monsoon has also started. Due to the low pressure area formed in the southern part of the Bay of Bengal, heavy to very heavy rains are forecast in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Rayalaseema and other areas. The Meteorological Department has said that this low pressure area will deepen further in the next 24 hours, which may lead to flood-like conditions in some parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

How was the weather condition in the last 24 hours

During the last 24 hours, heavy rains have been recorded in coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In this, especially Nellore and Bapatla districts of Andhra Pradesh received rainfall up to 15 cm, while Pudukottai and Chennai of Tamil Nadu also witnessed heavy rains.

Heavy rains for the next two days

Heavy rains will continue in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Karnataka between October 15 and 17. Heavy rains are also expected in Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh till October 16. Apart from this, strong winds and bad weather are expected in the southern parts of the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. The wind speed can reach 35 to 55 kilometers per hour.
