A five-year-old girl, who was fond of playing with cats, succumbed to the rare disease ‘taxo-parakinesis’. The disease caused by the feces of cats caused one eye to be uprooted. The lights went on. Roshni is returning after a long treatment at GSVM Medical College. Doctors claim that this is the third case of the disease in the country. The doctors have sent its case study to the American Journal.

Sudden blurriness in the eye

Three native cats had grown up in the house of five-year-old Jamia from Ghantaghar. She started playing with cats from the age of two to three. Last year in June, I woke up one morning and there was a blur in the eye. In a few days one eye started turning red. The doctors gave medicines as a normal infection. The treatment remained ineffective. One eye light went away. The family reached the eye college department of the medical college. Here Head of Department Prof. Parvez Khan did some tests. Asked about the child’s living. On learning of playing with cats, there was a possibility of Taxo-parakinesis. Investigations revealed that Tinea candis is a parasitic infection, which has caused one eye to rupture. This parasite reaches the human eye from cat feces.

Examination with optical coherence tomography revealed that the eye had ruptured. Some steroid and antiparasite medications eradicated the disease. The girl is recovering after six months of continuous treatment. Did not have to do the operation. This is the third case of ‘Taxo-Paracanis’ disease in India.
