The Himachal Pradesh Government (Himachal Pradesh Government Holidays 2025 List) has released the calendar of holidays for the year 2025. Government employees will get 24 gazetted holidays and 12 optional holidays. Women will also get three additional holidays of Rakshabandhan, Karvachauth and Bhai Dooj. On Friday, a notification was issued in this regard by the General Administration Department of the state government.

List of government holidays for 2025 in Himachal
There are 24 gazetted holidays in the 2025 calendar, but Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra are on the same day on October 2. Similarly, three festivals are coming on Sunday. That is, due to many gazetted holidays (Holidays 2025 List) falling on Sunday, the fun of this holiday has been spoiled.
There will also be 12 optional holidays in 2025. Apart from this, women will get three separate holidays for Raksha Bandhan, Karva Chauth and Bhai Dooj. According to the notification issued by the Himachal government for the calendar of the year 2025, there will be a holiday on Holi on March 14 in the new year.
Ram Navami is on April 6, Budha Purnima on May 12, Janmashtami on August 16, Dussehra on October 2, Deepawali on October 20. Maha Shivratri festival will be celebrated on February 26. Republic Day on January 26 is on Sunday. Ram Navami is also on April 6, Sunday. Similarly, Muharram is on July 6, Sunday. All three are gazetted holidays but are coming on Sunday holiday.
Women will get 3 separate holidays
Raksha Bandhan festival is on August 9, Saturday. There is a holiday on Sunday. Similarly, there is a holiday for Karva Chauth on October 10. The second Saturday is on the 11th and the Sunday is on the 12th. A package of three days’ holidays is being prepared. For women, there are three days of holiday on Raksha Bandhan, Bhai Dooj and Karva Chauth.
