The Municipal Corporation will give five percent rebate if the annual rental value of a small house does not exceed Rs 900. Such house owners will have to pay only 10 percent house tax. This proposal has been passed in the Municipal Corporation House.
When Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh was talked to, he said that if the annual rent assessment is more than Rs 900, 15 percent house tax will be charged. Whereas if it does not exceed Rs 900, the Municipal Corporation will charge 5 percent less house tax. The special thing is that more than 50 thousand population will get the benefit of this exemption. He told that with the passing of this proposal, the population of more than 50 thousand will get relief to a great extent. Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh said that there will be 10% discount from April 1 to July 31. Whereas from 1st August to 31st December there will be 5% discount. There will be no exemption on depositing house tax after January 1, 2025.
Such people will get benefit
Municipal Commissioner Inderjit Singh said that those employees of Municipal Corporation and other types of services working in the Municipal Corporation will not have to pay house tax who have only one house in the city and live in it themselves. He said that ex-servicemen who have been awarded Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Other Soldiers or any Shaurya Chakra or their dependents like spouse, minor children or unmarried daughter will also be exempted from normal tax. This will be applicable only if the building is residential and they themselves reside in it.

Along with this, he said that for 80% to 100% disability, 100% exemption will be given in house tax, for more than 50% and less than 80% disability, 50% exemption will be given in house tax. He said that Bharat Ratna, policemen or officers who have received gallantry medals from the President and those with Arjuna medals will be exempt from house tax. National level journalists, scientists and sportspersons will be given half exemption in house tax.
