Getting pregnant is not a very easy process for any woman. Many things happen in it simultaneously. It is obvious that no woman can be pregnant without a male sperm or sperm. However, the new study has shown that sperm does a very important job apart from a direct role in pregnancy. This study has been done by researchers from Adelaide University, Australia.
This study has appeared in the Nature Research Journal Communications Biology. According to the study, sperm only convinces a woman to become pregnant. Sperm gives the reproductive tissues to women a signal that increases the chances of pregnancy.
The study’s lead author, Professor Sarah Robertson, said, “This is the first study that suggests that women’s immune response works on the signal from sperm and allows the egg to fertilize, leading to pregnancy.”
Professor Robertson said, ‘This study about sperm is contrary to our current understanding as till now we had understood its potential. There is not only genetic material in it, but it also works to convince the woman’s body to invest her fertility in it. ‘
The protein found in sperm regulates a woman’s immune response (immunity) during pregnancy so that her body can accept the external fetus. Although sperm affect this reaction or not, it is not yet clear.
The team of researchers experimented on the mice’s utrus to understand the global gene. For this, he matched the perfectly fine and some sterilized sperm to Utrus. It was found in the experiment that due to a completely correct sperm, more changes in the female genes, especially in the case of immune response.
According to the study, women get stronger immune tolerance from the sperm of sterilized men compared to men who are sterilized. Researchers found that the effect of sperm has a direct effect on the cells of women.
The results of the new study show that sperm health also has an effect on pregnancy. This is necessary not only for pregnancy but also for the health of the child. Habits such as age, diet, weight, alcohol and smoking have an effect on sperm quality and can also affect pregnancy health.
Professor Robertson said, ‘It is believed that sperm only fertilizes the egg, but apart from pregnancy, sperm quality also affects the health of the woman and the child during pregnancy.
Professor Robertson said, “Conditions such as miscarriage, preeclampsia and premature births are caused by women’s immune response and are also responsible for partner’s sperm.”
