Aadhaar, a 12-digit identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), is the most important proof of identity as well as address for Indians in today’s era. UIDAI issues Aadhaar cards to all Indians. It means that no age limit has been fixed for making Aadhaar card. This means that the child can also have an Aadhaar card, which proves helpful for his lifetime. If you also want to get your child’s Aadhaar card, then the child needs an Aadhar card of one of the parents along with the birth certificate of the child along with the birth certificate.

According to UIDAI, biometric data of children below five years of age is not taken. The UID of the child is processed along with the demographic details and photographs linked to the Aadhaar card of the parents. These children have to give biometric details such as iris, all the 10 fingers of the hand when they are five years and 15 years old.
