Keeping in mind the needs of the farmers, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced last year that 2.5 crore farmers of the country would be given Kisan Credit Cards (KCC). What is Kisan Credit Card?
Kisan credit cards are issued by banks. The purpose of the government is to provide loans to the farmers for the purchase of agricultural items such as fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, etc. The second objective is that farmers do not need to take loans from moneylenders, who collect arbitrary interest. Where to download form
To download Kisan Credit Card online form, visit the official website https://pmkisan.gov.in/. Go to On the right side of the Former tab in the website, the option of Download Kisan Credit Form (Download KKC Form) is given. Print the form from here and fill it and submit it to the nearest bank. What do banks see?
Before giving loan, banks verify the applicant farmer. In this it is seen whether he is a farmer or not. Then his revenue record is checked. Aadhar, PAN and photo are taken for identification. After this an affidavit is taken that there is no dues on any other bank.
Rebate given in fees and charges
The government has also waived the fees and charges for making Kisan Credit Card. Actually, the cost of getting KCC made is 2 to 5 thousand rupees. Who can take KCC?
> Any person associated with agriculture, fisheries and animal husbandry is eligible to take Kisan Credit Card.
> Even if the farmer cultivates on his own, someone else’s land, he can take advantage of it.
> Minimum age should be 18 years and maximum 75 years.
> If the age of the farmer is more than 60 years, then a co-applicant will also be required, whose age is less than 60 years.
> After filling the farmer’s form, the bank employee will see whether you are eligible for it or not.
> Animal husbandry and fisheries can also get loans up to Rs 2 lakh under this.
> Just after this you will be issued Kisan Credit Card.
Benefits of Kisan Credit Card
> With the Kisan Credit Card, a farmer can buy agricultural necessities and later pay off his loan by selling the crop.
> There is no need to mortgage the land to take a loan up to Rs 1.60 lakh.
> Loan is available without any security.
> According to SBI, ATM cum Debit cards are issued free of cost to all KCC account holders.
> There is a provision of interest relief of up to 2 percent on an annual basis on loans up to Rs 3 lakh.
> An early repayment of the loan can provide up to 3 percent relief in annual interest.
> The interest rates on Kisan Credit Card depends on different banks. Usually it ranges from 9-11.50 percent.
> The crop also gets insurance cover in case of damage to the crop in the fields due to insect attack or any natural calamity.
> At present, getting crop insurance has been made voluntary.
> Dairy loan is also made available with Kisan Credit Card.
> Kisan Credit Card is made for five years with an increase of 10 percent on the basis of renewal every year in Kisan Credit Card.
Which documents are needed?
To get Kisan Credit Card, PAN card, voter ID, driving license, passport may be required as ID proof. For address proof like Aadhar card, voter ID, driving license or any other government ID and passport size photo, keep ready.
