How to change the registered mobile number associated with your bank account

SBI: There is an account and if you want to change your registered mobile number associated with it, then you can get it easily without sitting at home without going to the bank.




If you have an account with a bank (SBI) and you want to change your registered mobile number associated with it, then you can easily get it done from home without having to go to the bank. Here we are telling you how to change your registered mobile number linked to the State Bank of India (SBI) account. You can adopt these 3 easy methods to change your number in SBI. With this, you will not need to go to the bank (SBI) and your mobile number will be changed online while sitting at home. Your new mobile number will be registered with your account.

Change number through website

  • First go to SBI website https://retail.onlinesbi.com/retail/login.htm
  • Now click on the option ‘My account and profile’
  • Go to the ‘Profile’ tab on the next page
  • Click on the ‘Personal Details’ link
  • Enter Profile Password
  • Registered name, email id and mobile number will be displayed in INB
  • Click on this link
  • A new screen new personal details – mobile number update will be shown in which three tabs will show ‘Create, request and cancel’.
  • Now enter new mobile number
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  • Now confirm your mobile number
  • Click on ‘Ok’ to proceed.

A new screen will be displayed with three different methods to approve the change of mobile number. In this, if you have both old and new mobile numbers, then the mobile number change can be approved online using OTP. With this, mobile numbers can also be changed through ATMs and contact centers. Now you can change your mobile number through the options given below.

1 – Change such number by OTP on both mobile numbers

If you have both new and old numbers then you can change your number through OTP. For this, click on the radio button, now click on the Proceed button, now select your account which you have a debit card. You will now be directed to the ATM card verification screen of the State Bank of India. Here, the active and closed ATM cards associated with the PCO selected account will be shown. In this, select the active ATM card and click on the ‘Confirm’ button.

Now the selected ATM card number will be displayed in the next screen. Here enter the card details (valid / expiry date, card holder name, PIN and as shown in the image) and click on the Proceed button. On successful verification here, OTP will be sent to your old and new mobile number along with the reference number. Now you have to send SMS from both (old and new) mobile numbers within 4 hours. Now after successful verification of OTP value and reference number, the new mobile number you input will be copied to INB, CBS and ATM. You will also get a message on this mobile number.

2- Through ATM

  • First go to Internet Banking Request Approval ‘option and click on Proceed button
  • Click on the radio button and select the account for which you have a debit card.
  • Click on Proceed Button
  • You will be directed to the ATM card verification screen of State Bank of India
  •  Here you will be shown active and closed ATM cards associated with the selected account.
  • Now select the active ATM card and click on the ‘Confirm’ button
  •  Selected ATM card number will be displayed in the next screen
  •  Here card details (valid / expiry date, card holder name, fill PIN
  •  Now click on the Proceed button
  •  On successful verification you will see the message “Thank you for registering mobile number with us”, along with a number will be sent to your mobile number.
  • Now go to any State Bank Group ATM, swipe your card, select the tab services tab and input your PIN
  •  Select the tab on the ATM screen and select the ‘Request Internet Banking Request Approval’ option
  •  Fill in the 10 digit reference number here
  •  On successful completion of the process your new mobile number will be registered

3- Through the contact center

  • First click on ‘Approval via Contact Center’ option
  • Now click on the Proceed button
  • Now, by clicking on the radio button, select the account, which you have a debit card.
  • Then click on the Proceed button
  •  You will be directed to the ATM card verification screen of State Bank of India
  • Here you will be shown active and closed ATM cards associated with the selected account.
  •  Now select the active ATM card and click on the ‘Confirm’ button
  •  Selected ATM card number will be displayed in the next screen
  •  Here card details (valid / expiry date, card holder name, fill PIN
  •  Now click on the Proceed button
  •  On successful verification, a message will be sent to your mobile number.
  •  Your mobile number will be a reference number
  • Now from the contact center of the bank you will get a call on your new mobile number within the next 3 days
  •  Before sharing your personal information here ask the contact center person for a reference number
  • Do not share your reference number with anyone
  •  The contact center will verify your identity on the call by asking some information.

Now on successful verification of the information, the new mobile number you input will be registered. You will get a message of this on your mobile number.
