UMANG app i.e. Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance app established in India by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) to accelerate mobile governance among the citizens of our country. It facilitates citizens with a single portal to access e-Gov services across India, spanning from central to local government bodies and other citizen-centered facilities. With prominent customer-centric facilities like Aadhaar and Digilocker, UMANG provides smooth integration. By using a one-time password (OTP) process which will be sent to your registered mobile number, you can download the app and login. In order to secure the account from unauthorized entry, a user will have to set a 4 digit numeric MPIN code. Users have to pick two authentication questions that can be used if you lose access to your password or forget your PIN, to restore your account from the app. Users need to fill out their personal details after security checks, and then it will request the user to link their Aadhaar number with the app. Subscribers of EPFO can access their passbook; submit a pension withdrawal request, part withdrawal, and final settlement claim. The status of claims already made can also be checked by users. That being said, if you don’t link your Aadhaar with your PF account, only the passbook facility can be used. The Umang app does not enable you to raise requests for transfers from one EPF account to your most current EPF account. To check your PF details using UMANG app follow the steps listed below:
- Open the UMANG app on your mobile and navigate to the EPFO section or else you can search for the same under the search bar option.
- Now click on ’employee centric service’ and you will get three options i.e. View passbook, raise the claim and track the claim.
- Click on the ‘view passbook’ option to check your PF details and account balance.
- Now enter your UAN and click on ‘Get OTP’
- You will now get an OTP on your registered mobile number.
- Authenticate the OTP and click on ‘Login’ to proceed further.
- Now you will get access to the full list of all your EPF accounts with different employers created during your employment.
- Select the account for which you want to see the specifics and all the details can be accessed. Even you can download your PF passbook online instantly.
