How much the child base will differ from the common base
UIDAI has clarified that biometric identification such as iris scan or fingerprint scan will not be required in the child base. Wherever the identity of the child is needed, his parents will accompany him. However, as soon as the child crosses the age of five years, he will be issued a normal Aadhaar card. It will contain all the biometric details.
How to make child base for your child
Go to the Aadhaar Enrollment Center with your child and fill the form. Take the life certificate of the child and one of the parents at the center. The child will be photographed at the center, which will be on child basis. Child Aadhaar will be linked to any of the Aadhaar card in the parent. No biometric details of the child will be taken here. For this, submit your registered mobile number. After verification and registration, the confirmation message will be sent to the registered mobile number. Child Aadhaar will be sent to the parent’s registered address within 60 days of receiving the confirmation message.
The hair base is blue in colour
The base of blue color is as valid as other bases. According to the new policy, UIDAI is issuing blue colored Aadhaar (ie Child Aadhaar) for 0 to 5 year olds. This Aadhaar will become invalid when the child is 5 years old and he will have to go to the nearest permanent enrollment center and update his demographic and biometric details from this Aadhaar number. Otherwise Aadhaar will be invalid.
