To apply for Tatkal e-PAN, you have to first go to the e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department. Instant e-PAN is a facility provided for applicants having valid Aadhaar number. In Budget 2020, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that with this facility, the process of making PAN card will be simplified without filling the lengthy form.
E-PAN is same as normal PAN
E-PAN is similar to normal PAN. You can use it just like a normal pan. It can be easily generated online.
All you need is your Aadhaar number and registered mobile number to apply for e-PAN.
Who can apply for Tatkal e-PAN?
Any person who has never made a PAN card. Those who already have a PAN card, even if it is not linked with Aadhaar, such people will not be able to apply for it.
Aadhar card holders need to have their complete date of birth written in their Aadhar card. Minors are allowed to apply for e-PAN immediately. Applicants will be required to link their mobile phone number with their Aadhaar.
How to Apply for Tatkal e-PAN
- Visit the new income tax e-filing portal, https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal.
- After that go to the Online Services section on the home page and click on Instant e-PAN. If the first time on your screen
- If the Tatkal e-PAN option is not visible, click on ‘Show more’.
- After that click on New e-PAN.
- Then enter your Aadhaar number.
- Please read the terms and conditions carefully before clicking on Accept.
- You will receive a one-time password (OTP) on the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar number.
- Enter your e-mail ID and click on ‘Verify’.
- Instant e-PAN will be sent to your e-mail ID and it can be easily downloaded in PDF format.
