What is a property card?
A large population living in the village does not have any documents of their living and land. This card will give details of all types of property of farming and houses of the people living in the village. This will give villagers the right to property of their residential land. Any person will be able to use his property as a financial asset.
You can also apply for a loan with this card. Also, it can also be used for many economic benefits. Often there are disputes due to lack of land papers in the villages. This will help in settling such a dispute.
How will a property card be made?
Property card will not be applied online. The state governments will deliver it from door to door. Under this scheme, about one lakh land-property owners will be able to download property cards from the link received through SMS on their mobile phones. State governments will deliver property cards to those who will not have access to the SMS link.
Under this, people from 763 villages of 6 states will be benefited. This includes 346 villages in Uttar Pradesh, 221 in Haryana, 100 in Maharashtra, 44 in Madhya Pradesh, 50 in Uttarakhand and 2 villages in Karnataka.

After completion of the survey, the data will also be uploaded on the e-Gram Swaraj portal of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Online application or registration for property card will not be done.
How is the government preparing the card?
A digital map will be prepared for every property falling within the boundary of villages by drone. After completion of the survey, the owners of the land will be asked for proof. Those who have documents will be able to submit it immediately. If there is no proof with anyone, in that case a document named Gharoni will be given to the people occupying the land.
