ICC Rankings: Steve Smith beats Virat Kohli; Rishabh Pant-Cheteshwar Pujara made the leap, Hanuma Vihari-Ravichandran Ashwin also benefited

ICC Rankings: Cheteshwar Pujara, who helped India draw two half-centuries in the third Test, is in eighth place in the ICC Test batting rankings, while caretaker captain Ajinkya Rahane has slipped one place to seventh.

Rishabh Pant played innings of 36 and 97 runs in Sydney Test. He jumped 19 places to reach 26th position on his own. Hanuma Vihari is 52nd, Shubman Gill 69th and R Ashwin 89th.

However, Ashwin has suffered a loss in bowling. In the ICC Test bowling rankings, off-spinner Ashwin has dropped two places to ninth place, while Jasprit Bumrah is down one place to tenth. Pat Cummins tops this list. He is followed by Stuart Broad of England.
