ICICI Bank Contactless Payment Service: ICICI Bank has started offering a new facility to its customers to enjoy safe and contactless shopping in the festive season. ICICI Bank customers will be able to make contactless payments through the bank’s banking app iMobile Pay. With this, customers can tap their smartphone to make a purchase at the POS (Point of Sale) machines of the merchant outlets for payment.
Make debit-credit digital
Over 15 crore debit and credit card users of ICICI Bank will get this facility, so that they will no longer need to carry the card for payment at the retail store. This contactless service of the bank works on Near Field Communications (NFC) technology, which enables customers to use the digital version of debit and credit cards through the innovative payment service on ICICI Bank’s iMobile Pay.

Using this digital card, customers can make payments by waving their NFC service-connected phones to a contactless POS device.
Facility will be available on Visa card
This facility of Tap to Pay through ICICI Bank’s iMobile Pay app is currently available only on Visa cards. Soon this service will also be available on Mastercard.
To avail this service, customers need to update to the new version of the iMobile Pay app on Google Play Store on their NFC enabled smartphone. Customers need to do One Time Activation through iMobile Pay to use Tap to Pay service and then you can make payment in a secure contactless manner at retail stores.
What are the guidelines of RBI
As per RBI guidelines, customers can pay up to Rs 5000 per day from POS device. For transactions above Rs 5000 from POS devices, customers need to enter their card PIN.
