Permanent Account Number (PAN) issued under the Income Tax Act consists of a unique 10-digit alphanumeric code.
Apart from being a valid document of identity proof, it is also considered an important document for financial transactions and filing income tax returns. However, National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) gives an option to take a duplicate copy in case of theft or loss of PAN card. You can apply online for getting PAN. How to get it back if PAN card is lost, know
>> Go to incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home
>> Click on ‘Know your PAN’
>> Fill the required details and click ‘Submit’
>> Enter the OTP sent to the mobile number
>> Click ‘Validate’. PAN, Name, Jurisdiction etc will appear on the screen
After this, applying for a duplicate PAN can be done by following the following steps
>> Log on to the website onlineservices.nsdl.com
>> Now click on services and select PAN option
>> Click on Apply under Reprint of PAN Card
>> Fill the form and mention the information including Permanent Account Number, Email ID, Mobile Number etc.
>> Aadhar number can be used for auto-update of address
>> Choose your deposit method now
>> Any individual can submit digitally through e-KYC and e-Sign
>> Make the required payment through net banking. Debit/Credit Card or Demand Draft option
>> On submission a 15 digit receipt number will be generated
>> It can be used to track PAN application status
