Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, free ration is being given to lakhs of families. This scheme was started in March 2020. Keeping in mind the economic difficulties arising out of Kovid, it was started last year to provide relief to 80 crore beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). Last year, the scheme was extended in two phases till November. Meanwhile, complaints were also heard from many places that ration is not being given for free or it is not getting as much as it has been asked to be given by the government. If you also have such a problem, then you can make a complaint sitting at home.
Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana was implemented for the first two months in May and June. After this, under the fourth phase, it was extended till November 2021. Under the Anna Yojana, the beneficiaries are provided five kg of food grains per month per person in addition to the cheap ration they get under the National Food Security Act.
You can complain through social media
Now the times have changed. Social media has emerged as a strong weapon for the people. If you are not getting ration or are facing any other problem related to it, then you can directly complain to the Union Food Ministry on Twitter. Apart from this, you can also tag the Chief Minister of your state in that tweet. Apart from this, any person can make a complaint related to ration by visiting the website of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances Department (https://pgportal.gov.in/).
There is also an option to complain offline
If you are not getting free ration, first of all ask your dealer about it. On that basis, complain further. If no action is taken on your online complaint, then you can also register your complaint offline. For this you will have to go to the District Food Supply Department and complain there.
In addition to the quota of Rs 2 kg wheat and Rs 3 kg rice on the ration card, 5 kg wheat and rice is being given by the central government to every beneficiary under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.
