We have started a weekly train from Gandhinagar Capital Station to Varanasi. This train will have 16 coaches, out of which 6 coaches will be of AC. This train will leave from Gandhinagar to Varanasi on Thursday and will leave from Varanasi to Gandhinagar on every Wednesday.
Indian Railways has started two new trains from Gandhinagar Capital Station. This includes a train from Gandhinagar Capital to Varanasi Junction (Via Prayagraj, Jhansi) and MEMU train service for local commuters. MEMU train will run 6 days a week whereas trains going to Varanasi are weekly.
Announcing this on Thursday, Railway Board Chairman Sunit Sharma said that we have started a weekly train from Gandhinagar Capital Station to Varanasi. This train will have 16 coaches, out of which 6 coaches will be of AC. This train will leave from Gandhinagar to Varanasi on Thursday and will leave from Varanasi to Gandhinagar on every Wednesday.
Apart from this, a MEMU service has been started. This train will leave from Gandhinagar Capital Station and will go to Waretha. He told that this train will run 6 days a week and it will have stoppages at 13 stations between Gandhinagar and Waretha.
Rs 71 crore has been spent in redeveloping the station
Railway Board Chairman Sunit Sharma was saying these things while giving information about the redeveloped Gandhinagar Capital Railway Station. Describing the other works of the railways, he said that the work of the Mahesana-Varetha line, which was converted into a large line and capable of operating electric locomotives and the Surendranagar-Pipavav line, which was recently converted into an electric line, has also been completed. He said that 43 road under bridges and 4 new station buildings have also been constructed along with 4 major and 67 bridges on Mahesana and Waretha rail section.
Gandhinagar Capital Railway Station has been modernized at a cost of Rs 71 crore and has been provided with world class facilities at par with the modern airport. Special ticket windows, ramps, lifts and secure parking have been arranged for the convenience of the differently-abled. The entire building has been designed as a green building.
State-of-the-art theme based lighting has been arranged at the station, in which 32 themes have been prescribed, while there will also be a five star hotel in the station premises. The tanks of the state-of-the-art Aquatic Gallery house various species of aquatic creatures brought in from around the world, while the main tank houses sharks brought from all over the world. A 28 meter long walk-way tunnel has also been built to give a special experience to the visitors.
