IGI Airport New Service Big News! Now smart phone is not necessary for DG travel, just for face recognition system this work will have to be done

Face Recognition System: A registration desk has been set up at Terminal-3 of IGI Airport. Here the passenger will have to scan his boarding pass and face and will have to give one of the identity cards.

Delhi News: With the facility of Digi Yatra at Delhi’s IGI Airport, it is no longer necessary for the passengers arriving for the journey to have a smart phone. Now passengers can take advantage of Digi Yatra facility even without smart phone. For this, facial recognition system has been installed by IGI Airport Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).

Due to this technology, now those people who do not have smart phones will also be able to use the Digi Yatra app. According to DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, DIAL’s regular efforts are on to improve the passenger experience at Delhi Airport. This new initiative will help even those who are less tech savvy to make full use of DigiYatra and travel seamlessly. With the introduction of this facility, now passengers arriving to travel at IGI Airport will be able to take advantage of this even without downloading the DigiYatra mobile application in their mobiles.

No need to download APP

Earlier it was mandatory to download this app in smart phone to use Digi Yatra. In this, many people who did not use smart phones, had to enter the queue in the normal way, but with this new technology, the necessity of ‘downloading’ the mobile app has also ended.

Registration will have to be done at the registration desk

To take advantage of this new service started by Dial, passengers will have to register at the registration desk. Registration will take one minute. A registration desk has been set up at Terminal-3 of IGI Airport. Here the passenger will have to scan his boarding pass and face and will have to give one of the identity cards. After registration, passengers can proceed to the security check area and boarding gate inside the terminal without any hindrance and without showing the boarding pass.

New service started at IGI Terminal-3

Digi Yatra was started for easy entry of air passengers at the airport by getting rid of long queues. It started from December 1, 2022 at some selected airports in the country. Due to the identification of the passenger with the help of facial recognition, it takes less time for the passenger to enter the airport. Boarding pass is not required at the airport. The passenger’s face acts as his boarding pass. This system works like an identity platform based on a centralized mobile wallet. The passenger just has to show his face at the time of entry at the airport, at the time of security check. With its help, air travelers will save about 25 minutes, while registration will take only 1 minute.

You can also register through the mobile app

Registration for this face recognition system can also be done through the mobile app. For this, the mobile app of Digi Yatra will have to be downloaded on your mobile. After this, registration will have to be done through the mobile phone linked to the Aadhaar card. After this the user will be asked to link his/her DigiLocker or link Aadhaar. Then the user has to upload his selfie on the app. After this, passengers will be able to take advantage of this facility by uploading their boarding passes on the DigiYatra app.
