Chitrakoot recorded a day temperature of 44.2 degrees Celsius and Varanasi 43 degrees Celsius, while capital Lucknow and neighboring areas recorded a day temperature of 41 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 23.2 degree Celsius.

On May 23 and 24, the weather will be bad in the entire state. During this, there will be a yellow alert for rain with thunder and storm. Due to this the mercury will fall and there is a possibility of getting relief from the scorching heat.
Heat wave havoc in Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has directed the District Magistrates to take all necessary precautions in view of the meteorological department’s forecast of further rise in temperature by two to four degrees Celsius in the next few days amid heat wave in Tamil Nadu. In a statement issued here, Stalin said that besides ensuring the availability of ORS and other medical requirements in government hospitals, instructions have been given to the concerned authorities to provide drinking water to the cattle.
