The Meteorological Department on Saturday issued a heat wave alert for six states and two union territories. These include Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.
Jharkhand weather: The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal may turn into a cyclonic storm and hit the coasts of West Bengal and Bangladesh on Sunday night. There are chances of its impact in Jharkhand also. The Meteorological Department, Ranchi has issued a yellow alert of rain with strong wind and thunder in the eastern areas of the state including the capital Ranchi. There will be light clouds in the state from May 27.
Impact in these areas
Meteorologist Abhishek Anand said that this storm is currently located over the east-central Bay of Bengal. In the next 24 hours it will become strong till midnight of 26th May. Will cross Sagar Island, Khepupara coasts of Bengal. During this period the wind speed will be 120 to 135 km per hour. This storm will affect the areas of Jharkhand adjacent to Bengal. These will be seen in East Singhbhum, Bokaro, Godda, Dhanbad, Jamtara, Sahibganj, Dumka, Pakur including Ranchi. There are chances of good rain with strong wind at some places in these districts.
Heat wave alert for seven days in eight states of the country
The Meteorological Department on Saturday issued a heat wave alert for six states and two union territories. These include Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. The Meteorological Department said that there will be severe heat for seven days in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The temperature may exceed 45 degrees.
Palamu’s temperature crossed 42
Saturday was the hottest day of this year in Palamu district. People remained troubled by the humid heat throughout the day. The Meteorological Department recorded the maximum temperature of Medininagar on Sunday at 42.8 degrees Celsius, which is 2 degrees Celsius more than normal. The minimum temperature was also 28.6 degrees Celsius which is 1.9 degrees Celsius above normal. The maximum temperature recorded at the Meteorological Department center located in Medininagar City was 42.4 degrees Celsius. Due to the heat, the problems of the elderly and children have increased. In the evening people are coming out of their houses on the road in search of coolness.
