Because of this, the spring season was disappearing, but this year the rains and winds kept the weather of Delhi pleasant. The first week of March is also likely to be cool. If we talk about today i.e. Friday, March 1, the weather may take a turn. The Meteorological Department has issued yellow alert for today and orange alert for Saturday regarding rain in Delhi-NCR. There is also a possibility of storm along with rain.
Thunderstorm and rain in Delhi-NCR today
According to Skymet, there will be rain and thundershowers in Delhi NCR on March 1 and 2. These activities of rain and storm will be more during night time. Hail may also fall at some places. Such weather may persist on Saturday also. Because the Western Disturbance over the mountains is now weakening. Due to this, there are chances of light rain. There is a possibility of slight increase in cold after the clouds go away. The Meteorological Department has issued yellow alert for Friday and orange alert for Saturday.
Maximum temperature was lowest in four years
According to the Meteorological Department, the average maximum temperature in February was only 23.9 degrees. This is the lowest in four years. Earlier in 2019, the average maximum temperature was recorded at 22.5 degrees. The maximum temperature could not touch 29 degrees throughout this month. The hottest time was on February 20 (28.2 degrees). The temperature remained below normal for most of the day. At the same time, the average minimum temperature was also 9.2 degrees. According to the data from 2012 till now, the temperature has not gone lower than this in February during this period. The average minimum temperature in 2012 was 9.8 degrees, in 2014 it was 9.6 degrees and in 2020 it was 9.9 degrees. In other years it was 10 degrees or more. Rain has also broken the record of 11 years. There has been 32.5 mm rainfall this month. Earlier, more rainfall than this had occurred in February in 2014. There was 48.4 mm rainfall in February that year.

Clear air will be available in the last phase of winter
There is a possibility of clear air tomorrow in this last phase of winter. According to the forecast, the pollution level may remain satisfactory on March 2. Satisfactory level of air was received for the first time in winter on 19 February in 2023. On the other hand, this has been the cleanest February in 9 years due to record rain and strong winds.
According to the air bulletin of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI of the capital remained at normal level on Thursday. It was recorded at 147. The pollution level was satisfactory in three places. Lodhi Road was the cleanest. The AQI here was 86. It remained normal at 34 places. The AQI of NSIT Dwarka, Nehru Nagar was 200. According to the forecast, pollution levels may remain normal on March 1. It will reduce to a satisfactory level on March 2. After this, it will again be at normal level on March 3. After this, the pollution level may remain normal for the next six days. On Thursday the winds blew at a speed of 4 to 12 kilometers per hour. Now it may rain on the night of March 1. The wind speed can be around 4 to 16 kilometers per hour. On March 2, the wind speed will go from 16 to 32 kilometers per hour. During storm it can be 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. Whereas on March 3, it can remain between 8 to 16 kilometers per hour.
Breathed clean air for fifteen days
Due to strong winds and rain in February, the capital breathed normal level air for fifteen days. This is the clearest number of days in February since 2016. Earlier last year, 10 days of clean level were observed. At the same time, the number of days of very poor level was only 4.
