IMD Alert: Heavy rain alert from UP-Uttarakhand to Gujarat, Monsoon will enter Delhi, know the latest update from IMD

Monsoon and Weather Updates: According to the Meteorological Department, on 26 and 27 June 2024, there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi and Western Rajasthan.

IMD Alert: Monsoon is progressing rapidly in the country. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds at a speed of 30-40 kmph in many areas of northern and western India. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi and western Rajasthan on 26 and 27 June 2024. The Meteorological Department says that rainfall will increase between 28 and 30 June. At the same time, light to moderate rainfall is expected in these areas. Apart from this, very heavy rain may occur in Uttarakhand from 28 to 30 June, in eastern Uttar Pradesh on 28 and 29, in Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh on 29 and 30 at some places.

According to IMD, the northern boundary of monsoon is currently passing through Mundra, Mehsana, Udaipur, Shivpuri, Siddhi, Lalitpur, Chaibasa, Haldia, Pakur, Sahibganj and Raxaul. Conditions appear favourable for the southwest monsoon to advance into the remaining parts of the northern Arabian Sea, Gujarat state, Madhya Pradesh and some more parts of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand-Bihar.

Monsoon is expected to advance into eastern and western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad as well as northern Punjab and Haryana in the next 3-4 days. Monsoon will affect other areas in a similar manner.

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is expected in Konkan-Goa, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal will receive sporadic rainfall in the next five days. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Gujarat, Konkan-Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Karnataka and other areas from June 26 to 30. Apart from this, extremely heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over coastal Karnataka today on June 26.

Heavy rain alert in Gujarat

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in many parts of Gujarat for the next 5 days. Due to cyclonic circulation in Central Gujarat, heavy rain is expected in many parts of the state. At the same time, winds are expected to blow at a speed of 45 kilometers per hour in the sea. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has warned fishermen not to go into the sea.

Gujarat Meteorological Department scientist Ramashrya Yadav said that monsoon has entered Gujarat from June 11, which has progressed and has reached Mehsana till now. Rain is expected in all parts of North Gujarat in the next two to three days. At the same time, due to cyclonic circulation formed in Central Gujarat, Banaskantha, Patan, Sabarkantha, Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Gir Somnath, Kutch, Dwarka, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Jamnagar may receive normal to heavy rainfall.

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Banaskantha, Dwarka, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Navsari and Valsad in Gujarat on 27 June. On the other hand, there is a possibility of rain in Surat, Navsari, Valsad and Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli on 28 June. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain in Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Dadra and Nagar Haveli in Gujarat on 29 June. Rain is expected in Navsari, Valsad, Dadra and Nagar Haveli in Gujarat on 30 June.
